This German artist painted his compatriots as he saw them - poking light-hearted fun at their foibles. There's the "bookworm" for example, or the stressed-out father taking his family for a Sunday afternoon walk. This painter lived at the height of what became known as the Biedermeier period. His most famous work features an impoverished poet. This year marks the 200th anniversary of the artist's birth. Our question this week is: what is the name of this painter who came from Munich and who is often described as the Germans' most favourite artist? Is it:
